美濃地方でとれた錆土という小石や鉄分の細かい塊が入った荒い原土を、
紐作りで成形した陶匣（箱）です。
冷却還元焼成で焼くことにより鉄分が大きく広がって面白い土味をだしています。
土が焼き締まっておらず、水を漉してしまいますので長時間水を張ることはできません。
内側は釉薬がかけてあります。

It's made by coiling technique
By firing with cooling reduction firing, the iron content spreads widely and gives an interesting earthy taste.
The clay is not hardened and will filter out water, so it cannot be left in the pot for long periods of time.
The inside is glazed.
